Let me just clear the port issue.

In the agent.properties file I changed the locked/local.port and left
the locked/server.port the same. So the server is listening on the same
port but the agent port is different. Is it ok?

Ok, so the servers have different IP addresses, and the servers are
listening on different agent ports. On your previous email, you
mentioned that you were changing the IP address on the agent to reflect
the backup server. Did you also change the port as well? If the agent
port is different you will need to change that as well.

Steve

By same configuration I mean one server is a backup of the main server.
I'm trying to point one of the agents to the backup server in order to
test the upgrade to 3.4 (it's still 3.3 though). When I do that I get
the below error. The 2 servers reside on two different machines with two
IP addresses and the same server port. The agent port is different. I
have no problem accessing the main server. Only when I change the agent
to the backup server's address, I get the error.

Nir,

Both servers have the same configuration, can you please explain? Are
the two servers on the same machine, with the same IP address? Both
servers have different ports?

Yes, you can install as many agents as you like on the same machine, as
long as they have different ports.

To trouble shoot, I would shut down one server, and make sure you can
access the correct agent. Then try it again with the other
server/agent.

Let me know if you are able to get that work. It sounds like somewhere
the agent is getting confused as to what server it should connect too.

Hi,

I have a working Anthill agent, I want change its properties to point to
another server, I change the server address and the external server
address in the agent.properties.conf file and I get the below error
(both servers have the same configuration). I even tried to remove the
agent.id string but it didn't help.

Is there anything else I should do?

Another related question: Can I install two agent instances on the same
machine to work with different servers? (On different ports of course)

Thanks,

NirS
