[Anthill-pro] Perforce changelists

I`m little bit angry. :) after deleting "Get ChangeLog" step and creating
the new one with same configuration everything is fine. I think this bug is
related with buildlife status ids which are not rechecked everytime when
copying or export/importing project.

I don`t need this quiet period feature so I`m turned it off per workflow but
everytime I run the build it says that this is still first build. The
previous build was successful and I have set status Assigned in one of
executing jobs. And I like to run the build on every submit.

I`ve migrated my test environment to production anthill and now I have this
problem everywhere.

What are conditions in algorithm to get state "First build life of project
ACTP. Get change log step skipped." and for others?

There's two requests for changes from Perforce when the quiet period is

active. The first is checking for changes in the last few minutes that

would impact the quiet period.

The second is actually looking for the changes to the application since

the prior build so those can go into a report and all that good stuff.

If you want to disable the second request for changes, that can be done too.

Uldis,

How do you have your quiet period configured? I quiet period basically
checks the repository every so often to determine if there are any new
commits prior to a build request. So if you make a commit, and your partner
makes a commit, and they happen in a defined amount of time (the quiet
period) Anthill will include both of those commits into one build, instead
of building the project twice.

There are some settings you can configure on the Quiet Period tab. Try
setting the quiet period to use the agent that runs the Perforce builds.
How do you have the rest of your quiet period configured?

This is the most interesting part because there is no errors. This is log
from build request:
Tue Sep 04 15:43:44 EEST 2007: Requested by Buildlife 476 of Project ACTP
(61), Workflow Daily Build Main (111)

Now I`m turned off quite period because it really crushes my custom build
processes. But on production I see that changelog is retrieved anyway so
this can`t be the problem. So what`s going on?...

Does anybody can really explain how p4 is integrated in AntHill and how
these quite periods works?

Until you have a successful build with a project, there is no baseline
to get the changelog against. That message in and of itself generally
doesn't indicate an error.

Is the build request failing? If so, click into the job link under the
build request. You should be able to see more about what's going wrong
there.

Eric
