Yes after some investigation I see that I had misunderstood these things.
This feature is only for source config. 

I have a lot of jobs so it is pretty hard to browse/filter them. I thought
that I`ll be able to categorize my jobs not only with folders. Now I have
two groups - Perforce and all other. It would be nice if there will be some
functionality to create my own groups (Compile, Build, Artifacts, Tests,
Deploy etc) and a listbox in workflow configuration with them which after
choosing filters only related Job Configs. Alternative will be if I can
choose Job from library browsing folders like in Administration.

 

Also it would be grate feature if I can take a workflow from workflow
library and add to it some unique jobs per project - use that workflow as
template but keep functionality "If template workflow changes, all project
workflows are changed".

I'm afraid I do not understand what you are trying to accomplish.  How do
you want to edit the source configuration to assign them to a job
configuration?  Can you please provide an example of how the functionality
you are looking for would work?
