[Anthill-pro] Can we set our own agent.id property?

When a new agent is installed the field agent.id in the agent.properties
file is auto-generated as a unique key, e.g.
locked/agent.id=emNqOTBqM2F6M3oweHlzdjQ1Nj
Can we set this field ourselves? More specifically, after installing an
agent and before starting it for the first time, can we set this field
to
locked/agent.id=<hostname>
where <hostname> is the name of the machine where this agent is
installed. The reasons we need to do this are long and complex and I
won't elaborate here, at least for now. I've done some simple tests and
Anthill doesn't seem to mind if we set this property manually. I'd like
some verification though from the experts whether this is safe to do.
Thanks.
Peter
