[Anthill-pro] A Question About Triggers

Hi Curtis,

I guess that is an option, assuming my build time is consistently below
a certain time (the nightly build occurs at 2am, so the tests can be
fired off at 4am or something). But I was also hoping to have the tests
automatically run if a build happens outside the context of a scheduled,
nightly build however. For example, if a user triggers a build during
the day, or if I ever get repository triggers hooked up (unlikely with
CVS as they are such a pain to implement...).

So if I relied solely on a scheduled trigger, I guess I would set my
dependency trigger to "None"?

Why not 'schedule' the test workflow to run after the tools are done?

Subject: [Anthill-pro] A Question About Triggers

Hi There,

I am trying to set up automated triggers for my tests and I need some
help regarding how AnthillPro works.

Lets say I have a testing workflow that depends on 'Tool A', 'Tool B',
and 'Tool C', and ends up executing tests on 'Project X'. If I set up a
tests workflow with those three dependencies as "Push" dependencies, I
am worried that in the context of a nightly build where tools A, B and C
all get rebuilt, but the builds may occur perhaps 10 or 20 minutes apart
due to other builds occurring at the same time, my tests are going to be
run three times, when really they only should be executed once after all
three tools are rebuilt.

Can I use the quiet period to handle this case? I was under the
impression that the quiet period was only used in conjunction with the
CVS checkout, not the dependency triggers. What is the best way to deal
with this scenario?

Mark.
