Hi,

You shouldn't need to make any substantial changes to a default 
installation of tomcat. Generally if a war file (a.war) is dropped in 
the webapps directory, the next time Tomcat starts up the application 
will be installed at localhost:8080/a . Alternatively, you can use a 
context file to point at the war file wherever it exists on your disk.
