Thanks for your reply.  I have solved the problem a completely different
route anyway !

I was running with cvs 1.9 and the contents of the CVS/Repository files
looked like d:/depot/qa/java/....

I have changed to cvs 1.11 and the contents of the CVS/Repository files now
look like qa/java/...

Strange.  We do test the CVS adapter with a CVS server running on 
Windows, but we never have tested a repository root that includes the 
drive -- instead of :pserver:swaina at foundry.ny.ficc.gs.com:d:/depot, we 
have always used something like 
:pserver:swaina at foundry.ny.ficc.gs.com:/depot

I'm not sure whether that is the problem, but it may be worth checking 
into.  To make this change to your CVS root, you need to configure the 
CVS server running on your windows box accordingly.  I believe there is 
a tab for specifying a prefix for the cvs root -- your prefix would be d:\.

Let me know if this does not fix the problem.
