Overview

This is a leadership role within everstream and is responsible for
defining product vision, establishing product milestones, managing the
product development lifecycles, and delivery of the product to
customers. Qualified candidates should possess a strong background in
product design, product lifecycle, and demonstrate strong technical
leadership, communication skills and a proven track record of delivering
on the product roadmap.  

 

Candidates will be expected to write detailed quality-driven feature
specifications, and along with development, test, usability, and design,
drive those features from conception to release. Day to day
responsibilities will include writing specifications, driving product
feature areas, and working closely with other functional areas within
everstream such as Sales, Product Management, QA, and Field Services.
Candidates for this position should have strong feature design skills,
great communication skills, a solid understanding of Object-oriented,
database, and Web technologies (Java, HTML, JavaScript, XML, Oracle,
SQL), and the ability to manage a multi-milestone project. 

 

 

Specific Roles

The position includes the following specific roles:

*	Work closely with Product Management to define product vision
and roadmap and ensure that these are in-line with corporate direction
as well as customer needs and expectations.
*	Collect and analyze product functional requirements through
interfacing with various individuals and teams including Product
Management, Account Management, Field Services, and directly with
customers.
*	Define product releases and milestones, and communicate timely
release information to all stakeholders.
*	Write detailed product specifications and facilitate the review 
*	Plan and direct software project schedules, and monitor the
software project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with
other departments as necessary.
*	Schedule and lead checkpoint reviews, and ensures that all
required software documentation is created and controlled. 
*	Work closely with the Architecture team to ensure that product
development is conducted in accordance with standard architectures and
documented software development standards.
*	Manage engineers and team leads and conduct performance
appraisals on a regular basis.
*	Develop and execute on staffing plans including full-time
employees and contractors, to ensure product development commitments are
met. 
*	Assign and monitor work of software engineers, and provide
management support and direction.
*	Establish relationships with technology partners to support
product integration initiatives.
*	Provides guidance and mentorship to software program team
members to achieve goals in accordance with established career
milestones.
*	Maintain functional and technical knowledge of the entire
Everstream product line.

 

 

Skills required

*         Minimum 3-5 years experience managing software products and
product development

 

*         Experience with modern software development methodologies,
with emphasis on software and hardware architecture and infrastructure
design and development.

*         Strong understanding of web, programming, and networking
technologies such as HTML, Java, Oracle, UNIX/Linux, operating
system(s), networking protocols, and technical architecture.  

*         Strong analytical skills regarding technical and project
management issues.

*         Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage
competing client demands.

*         Able to effectively organize and manage a team of people from
within and outside the company.

*         Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

*         B.S./B.A./M.S. degree.
