[Clev-jug] Sorry, everybody

Hello again, everyone. My diplomatic skills have apparently failed me
this time, and fanned the flames rather than retarding them. Sorry.

I was just trying to take a little lighter tone than our Ruby conference
promoter and anti-spam activist were taking with one another. I
certainly was not saying that Ruby is no more relevant than my poetry to
this list. Ruby is in fact not just more relevant, but more poetic. :)

I was just trying to establish that this /is/ a line-drawing question,
and I believe someone should decide where it is (and offering my opinion
that, were I to have my way, that posting would be outside it). I still
hope someone does create guidelines of some kind (Toni appears to second
this motion in her message).

Mr. Meil cautions me against self-promotion (pointing out that I am a
consultant). I'm not sure how my message might have been promotional.
(I am flattered that Mr. Meil is even aware of my consulting practice,
given my inept marketing.) But in any case, I'm sorry if it seemed
inappropriate to you. I do believe that self-promotion should be
discouraged here.

Anyway, I assume no one will protest if I withdraw from this discussion
now. :)

-- David.
