[Clev-jug] Job Postings on the List -- Need Ideas

I'm new to the JUG -- I've only attended three meetings and this is the
first time I've posted on the list. The reason I joined the JUG is that
I've recently become the IT director of a company with a long-term
commitment to Java and Open Source development. For the seven years
prior to that, I ran an IT consulting company that did a lot of Open
Source and only a little bit of Java development. So I am not
personally a Java developer and by no means an expert on the technology,
but it seems obvious to me that I need to at least get to know some
folks and be known in that circle. I have never posted a job on the
list, but expected to do so at some time in the near future. My personal
feeling is that when you join a list and/or a group (whether in
cyberspace or not), you shut up for a while and listen and absorb the
culture and customs so as not to make the first thing out of your mouth
inappropriate or irritating, and/or justifiably unwelcome. What I have
done outside of the context of the list, though, is to twice approach
Maciej seeking advice about how to go about searching for the talent I
need, and I've also approached Scott Seighman of Sun on the same
subject. I would appreciate any constructive input on that subject, on
list of off.
To sum up, then, I don't feel I'm in a position to vote on whether to
allow job postings on this list, but I definitely have an interest. One
way or another, I would appreciate some effective means for someone like
me--an actual employer actually looking to hire an actual person (i.e.,
not a recruiter trolling for names for his portfolio)--to make an
opportunity known to talented developers in the group who may be interested.
